Khuram A. Sial, M.D. is double board certified and Harvard and Baylor-trained in pain medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of The American Academy of Pain Medicine. He successfully completed an interventional pain fellowship from Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is a San Diego native who graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside. Giving back to his community, he has serviced the Inland Empire for over 10 years now providing quality pain management services. During his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, he was the recipient of many awards, including a research award at the Lewis A. Levitt, M.D. Memorial Lectureship, and a scholarship recipient from the American Pain Society. He is the only local physician that is pain fellowship trained with a background in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He has been awarded Vitals Top Compassionate Doctor Award 2014, Vitals Top 10 Doctor Award 2013 & 2014, Rated and Awarded by patients, Voted as one of California’s Top 10 Pain Medicine Specialists, & Vitals Patient’s Choice Award, 2012, 2013, & 2104. He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the International Spine Intervention Society. He performs active research in the field of pain medicine and is the leading principal investigator of Caduceus Clinical Trials who is always searching for new innovative treatments for pain. In addition, he has published numerous book chapters, research articles, and case studies.
Dr. Sial has trained in percutaneous and endoscopic spine surgery under world renowned spine surgeon, Dr. Thomas Hoogland of the Alpha Klinic in Munich, Germany. He is actively involved in clinical research and development of minimally invasive spine approach and collaborates regularly with American Spine physicians. He uses percutaneous and endoscopic discectomy treat spinal pain. His commitment to helping patients discover alternatives to traditional invasive surgeries, like laminectomy and spinal fusion, has led him to co-found American Spine, a practice dedicated to the least invasive spinal treatments.
